We all know that Excel is a great program, and it can be of great help in countless situations. Yet, as handy and as popular as it is, it can still be improved, especially when it comes to repetitive and tedious tasks when multiple workbooks and spreadsheets are involved.
Kutools for Excel enhances existing Excel features and adds new functions and tools, improving the overall functionality and practicability of MS Excel. It makes navigating among multiple workbooks, worksheets or columns much easier thanks to tools such as its “Navigation Pane”. There is a variety of utilities that Kutools provides in order to help you show or hide workbooks, worksheets and cell ranges. A lot of operations with ranges and cells can also be easily performed: cell merging, adjusting cell sizes, swapping, random sorting, range comparison, duplicate prevention – these are just a few examples.
I also like that Kutools for Excel offers handy separate tools such as converters (currency converter, unit converter, etc.), calculators, formatting or counting tools. The number of tools and functions that Kutools for Excel provides is truly impressive, and the aforementioned ones are just a few examples. There are also tools that facilitate selection and insertion operations, functions that help with editing tasks, deletion utilities, exporting features, and many more.
Despite being a very comprehensive set of utilities and functions, Kutools is both affordable and easy to use. It only adds two tabs to the “ribbon” menu of Excel. Unfortunately, the latter fact also means that this add-in is only compatible with MS Excel 2007, 2010 and 2013. Still, it’s a great tool for those who use Excel on a regular basis.
